About
Dr. Andrew Allen
Farm kid → professor → your vet.I grew up on a farm in Southern Idaho with the wonderful opportunity to raise my own cattle, sheep, and horses. After graduating from Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, I worked as a mixed and large-animal vet in Oregon and Idaho for four years.
I then decided to continue my education, pursuing a residency in large-animal internal medicine and a PhD at WSU. Upon completion, I was hired on as faculty to train and teach veterinary students in large-animal internal and production-animal medicine.
After 13 years on faculty, I had an opportunity to practice in beautiful Central Oregon — and I took it.

A solo practice with a full org chart.
I'm a solo practitioner and mostly work alone — but as I travel to your farms, ranches, and facilities, you may get to meet my family. They keep me on my toes.
Why choose Double A
The training of a specialist, the hands of a farm kid.
Like most veterinarians, I pursued this work because I love working with and helping animals and their owners. What separates me from many others is 24 years of experience in production-animal and preventative medicine, along with advanced training toward board certification in Large Animal Internal Medicine — at least three years under boarded internists, plus qualifying and certifying examinations.
To complement that training, I've had a lifelong involvement with horses, cattle, sheep, and goats, which has taught me a practical understanding of the value of production animals to producers — and of companion animals to their owners.
That combination lets me work well with owners to do what's best for them and their animals.
